Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Monday, June 15

Niagara / Hamilton to Kingston

We depart in the morning from Niagara with pick-ups in Grimsby and Hamilton/Ancaster, travelling via the 407 to maximize our time together. Enjoy the scenery and camaraderie as we head toward Kingston.

Upon arrival mid-afternoon, we’ll begin with a privately-chartered Kingston Red Trolley sightseeing tour, offering a wonderful overview of the city and its historic landmarks.

Afterward, we’ll check into our waterfront hotel, the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. This evening we’ll gather for a Welcome Pizza Dinner & Social, followed by time to enjoy a relaxing stroll along Kingston’s beautiful waterfront.

Day 2 — Tuesday, June 16

Maritime & Medical History of Kingston

After breakfast, we’ll divide into smaller groups for guided tours of two fascinating Kingston museums.

Our first stop is the Great Lakes Maritime Museum, where we’ll board the historic S.S. Keewatin, a beautifully preserved 1907 steamship often called the “Titanic of the Great Lakes.” Explore elegant Edwardian passenger areas and the massive coal-fired engine room while learning about over a century of Great Lakes history.

We’ll also visit the Canadian Museum of Health Care, housed in the historic Ann Baillie Building. This museum contains Canada’s largest collection of medical artifacts and offers a fascinating look at the history of medicine and health care.

Dinner this evening is on your own, with the option to dine at the hotel’s Wharf & Feather Restaurant or explore Kingston’s excellent waterfront dining.

Day 3 — Wednesday, June 17

Kingston Penitentiary & Thousand Islands Cruise

Following breakfast, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Kingston Penitentiary, Canada’s oldest and most notorious maximum-security prison. This powerful experience offers an unforgettable look into 180 years of correctional history.

In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore downtown Kingston, browse the shops, relax at a café, or join an optional guided visit to the Canadian Military Communications and Electronics Museum, located at CFB Kingston.

This evening, we’ll enjoy a highlight of the tour — a 1000 Islands Sunset Dinner Cruise aboard the Island Star, featuring a three-course plated dinner while sailing the beautiful waters of the St. Lawrence River.

Day 4 — Thursday, June 18

Prince Edward County Scenic Drive & Return Home

After our final breakfast, we’ll depart Kingston and travel home via the scenic countryside of Prince Edward County.

We’ll stop in charming Picton where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch, browse local shops, and explore this delightful town.

Relax as we continue our journey home, reflecting on the wonderful experiences and memories made throughout our Kingston getaway.
